Tell them differently

A two-year programme/A two-yearly programme

A programme or any activity is said to be a two-year programme when it happens for a period of two years while a programme is said to be a two-yearly programme when it happens once in every two years.

Biannual/Biennial

A biannual programme happens twice in every year while a biennial programme takes place one in every two years.

Every day/Every other day

An activity happens every day when it takes place daily while an activity happens every other day when it happens on a day, skips the next day and happens again on the next day, i.e, one day on; one day off.
