Let’s take a rule a day

Ten percent of the work have been done (nonstandard).
Ten percent of the work has been done (standard).
Note: When percentages and fractions are used in sentences, the verb will be determined by the noun or pronoun after the percentage (whether it is singular or pronoun).
Eighty percent of the works have been done (standard).
Two-third of the building is occupied (standard).
Two third of the buildings are occupied (standard).
