Quantity and Health

We were not many there due to government instruction (standard). Much is used for non-count nouns while many is used for count nouns.

Stay safe; there are only ~a few~ medical practitioners to help out (nonstandard).
Stay safe; there are only few medical practitioners to help out (standard). Few is used to mean not as much as may be expected or wished for.

If you’ve got ~little~ food stuff, share with others at this time (nonstandard).
If you’ve got a little food stuff, share with others at this time (standard). Little means “hardly anything” and a little means a small but considerable quantity.
