What have you been saying?

I saw Obama ~live and direct~ (nonstandard).
I saw Obama in the flesh (standard). To have someone physically in front of you is to see them in the flesh.

I will ~never never~ talk to him again (nonstandard).
I will never ever talk to him again (standard). Never ever is a more forceful way of saying never.

He slept ~like a log of wood~ (nonstandard).
He slept like a log (standard). To sleep very soundly is to sleep like a log.
