USING WORDS IN EXACTITUDE

You need to ~crack~ your brain to get a solution (nonstandard).
You need to rack your brains to get a solution (standard).
Not that one can either use ‘ rack ‘ or ‘ wrack ‘. Again, British English prefers ‘ brains ‘ while American English favours ‘ brain ‘. So, you can either wrack your brain or your brains.

~Horn~ at the car in front of you (nonstandard).
Honk at the car in front of you (standard). Note that the device used to make the sound is the horn but the action is to honk .

Stop ~pressing~ the horn (nonstandard).
Stop sounding the horn (standard).
