FUND or FUNDS?

English for Today by Ganiu Abisoye Bamgbose (Dr GAB)

FUND or FUNDS?

Fund: an amount of money saved, collected or provided for a particular purpose: The school has set up a special fund for the project.

Funds: money needed or available to spend on something. Think of funds in terms of available pecuniary resources: Church funds are now seriously depleted following the repairs to the roof.

We could fund the project with the community funds or raise a fund for that purpose.
