TAG QUESTIONS

RULE 3:
When there is no auxiliary verb in a sentence, any of “do”, “does” or “did” forms the tag.
Do forms the tag when the sentence is in present tense and the subject is plural:
They like rice:
Don’t they?

Does forms the tag when the sentence is in present tense and the subject is singular:
He never listens:
Does he?

Did forms the tag when the sentence is in past tense and the verb is either singular or plural:
He violated the rule:
Didn’t he?
