He’s so ~calculative~ when he desires something (nonstandard).
He’s so calculating when he desires something (standard). If you describe someone as calculating, you mean that they often control situations for their own advantage in an unpleasant way. This is different from something/someone being calculative, which means to involve calculation:
The process is more intuitive than calculative (stadard).
