GRAMMAR AND RAIN

It’s been raining ~cat and dog~ in Lagos since yesterday (nonstandard).
It’s been raining cats and dogs in Lagos since yesterday (standard).

Maybe it’s time for the usual seven ~raining days~ that we experience (nonstandard).
Maybe it’s time for the usual seven rainy days that we experience (standard).

Well, let’s all save for the ~raining days~ (nonstandard).
Well, let’s all save for ~rainy days~ (nonstandard).
Let’s all save for a rainy day (standard). If you say that you are saving something, especially money, for a rainy day, you mean that you are saving it until a time in the future when you might need it.
