THE VOCABULARY OF FOOD

My sister eats ~swallow~ any time of the day (nonstandard).
My sister eats stodge anytime of the day (standard). Stodge is food that is heavy, filling, and high in carbohydrates.

I want rice and chicken with fries as ~extra~ (nonstandard).
I want rice and chicken with fries as side dish (standard).
I want rice and chicken with fries as side order (standard). A small amount of food that is ordered in addition to the main meal is a side dish or side order.

There’s ~second round~ for anybody that wants more (nonstandard).
There’s seconds for anybody that wants more (standard). A second helping of food is called seconds.
