USING THE WRONG VERBS

It’s funny how women ~argue~ with traders over prices (nonstandard).
It’s funny how women haggle with traders over prices (standard). When you haggle, you argue about something before reaching an agreement, especially about the cost of something that you are buying. So, when your argument is about the price of a thing, you are haggling.

It is expected that you ~horn~ before overtaking another vehicle (nonstandard).
It is expected that you honk before overtaking another vehicle (standard).
If you honk the horn of a vehicle or if the horn honks, you make the horn produce a short loud sound. Horn, as a verb, means for an animal to gore or butt with a horn: The cow will horn you if you don’t stay away from it.
