Rule 1
A singular noun that does not end in s, attracts the apostrophe and s:
Ganiu’s lessons
Blessing’s phone

Rule 2
A singular noun that ends in s takes the apostrophe alone or apostrophe and s:
James’ bag ✔️
James’s bag ✔️
Julius’ car ✔️
Julius’s car ✔️
In Jesus’ name✔
In Jesus’s name✔

  1. A plural noun that ends in s takes apostrophe alone:
    Boys’ wear ✔️
    Ladies’ choice ✔️
  2. A plural noun that does not end in s takes apostrophe and an s:
    Children’s party
    Oxen’s food
