SUBJECT-VERB AGREEMENT
- Indefinite pronouns such as everyone, everybody, someone and somebody attract singular verbs:
Everybody are ready. ✖️
Everybody is ready. ✔️ - The indefinite pronoun, all, can attract either a singular verb or a plural verb. It attracts a singular verb when it refers to things and it attracts a plural verb when it refers to persons:
All is well with me by God’s grace. ✔️
All are ready to partake in the seminar. ✔️
One of Concord: When ‘one of’ is used in the subject position of a sentence, it should be followed by a plural noun or pronoun and a singular verb:
One of them is ready. ✔️
One of the ladies wants to register. ✔️
