I don’t know about *these* things (standard).
NOTE: “This” is used for one person or item while “these” is used for two or more things:
Who is this? ✔️
Who are these? ✔️

~This~ is his wife over there (nonstandard).
*That* is his wife over there (standard).
~These~ are my players on the field (nonstandard).
*Those* are my players on the field (standard).
NOTE: “That” is singular while “those” is plural. Also, “this” and “these” are used for close reference, while “that” and “those” are used for distant/far reference.
