PAR or PER?

Dr GAB is a teacher ~per excellence~ (nonstandard).
Dr GAB is a teacher *par excellence* (standard).
You describe something as par excellence when it is the best example of its type.

Her writing is considered to be ~on a per~ with mine (nonstandard).
Her writing is considered to be *on a par* with mine (standard).
Something/someone is on a par if they are at the same level as some others.

The meal will cost a dollar ~par~ person (nonstandard).
The meal will cost a dollar *per* person (standard).
Per is used used when expressing rates, prices, or measurements to mean “for each”.
