AND THE LIKE or AND THE LIKES?

Lecturers get involved in teaching, writing, marking ~and the likes~ (nonstandard).
Lecturers get involved in teaching, writing, marking *and the like* (standard).
If you mention particular things or people and then add and the like, you are indicating that there are other similar things or people that can be included in what you are saying.

We haven’t seen ~the like~ of Micheal Jackson since he died (nonstandard).
We haven’t seen *the likes* of Micheal Jackson since he died (standard).
The likes of is used when someone or something that is equal to or is as important as another is being mentioned.
