APOSTROPHE

Apostrophe ‘ is a punctuation mark in language studies. It is a figure of speech in literature. As a punctuation mark, apostrophe performs three functions:

1. It is used to pluralise numbers and letters:
Circle the 0s in the solution.✖️
Circle the 0’s in the solution. ✔️
Underline all the fs in the paragraph. ✖️
Underline all the f’s in the paragraph. ✔️

2. It is used to indicate the omission of a letter or letters in the abbreviation of words:
I’m good. ✔️
Am good. ✖️
Hes okay. ✖️
He’s okay.
Have not told him. ✖️
I’ve not told him.
