That behaviour was ~borne~ out of your misunderstanding (nonstandard).
That behaviour was born out of your misunderstanding (standard). Note that “born out of” metaphorically means to give birth to. The expression “born out of”, therefore, means consequent upon an initial happening.
The predictions of the scientists have not been ~born~ out so far (nonstandard).
The predictions of the scientists have not been borne out so far (standard). Borne out means to be proven. The second sentence takes the sense of something which has not been proven and not a consequence.
