COMMON ERRORS

They got into trouble over playing truant ( standard). To play truant is to stay away from school without leave or explanation.

The environment is not ~conducive for~ brainstorming (nonstandard).
The environment is not conducive to brainstorming (standard).
If one thing is conducive to another thing, it makes the other thing likely to happen

The plan first saw ~the light of the day~ in 2003 (nonstandard).
The plan first saw the light of day in 2003 (standard).
