COMMON ERRORS

It is good to travel; it broadens your ~horizon~ (nonstandard).
It is good to travel; it broadens your horizons (standard).

They should be given ~advanced~ notice before evacuation (nonstandard).
They should be given advance notice before evacuation (standard). Advance means before an event while advanced means modern or to be far ahead:
Negotiations are at an advanced stage . ✔️

Let’s see the doctor; he’s still running ~temperature~ (nonstandard).
Let’s see the doctor; he’s still running a temperature (standard).
