In the meantime, let’s be patient (standard). When you mean to say for the time being, it is expressed as “meantime”.
We need more more ropes/wire in the compound (nonstandard).
We need more clothesline in the compound (standard). A rope or wire on which washed clothes are hung to dry is called clothesline.
