Complement is a thing that contributes extra features to something else in such a way as to improve or emphasise its quality, and it is also used in grammar:
Local ales provide the perfect complement to fine food.
The noun functions as complement of the subject.

Compliment is a polite expression of praise or admiration.
She paid me an enormous compliment.

Compliments is used to express best wishes or regards.
Compliments of the season.
Also, if you give something to someone with your or someone’s compliments, you give it to them free:
I have another good book on academic writing, compliments of Dr Rachael Bello.
