Figuratively, I think we can say that delegates are now selling like hot cakes (standard). If things are selling like hot cakes, a lot of people are buying them.

With aspirants who are out to win at all costs, the delegates are not ready to ~trim their sales~ (nonstandard).
With aspirants who are out to win at all costs, the delegates are not ready to trim their sails (standard). To trim your sails is to change your behaviour to deal with a difficult situation, for example by limiting your demands, needs, or expectations.

I guess delegates are ready to accept money even from someone without ~prospect~ (nonstandard).
I guess delegates are ready to accept money even from someone without prospects (standard). Someone’s prospects are their chances of being successful, especially in their career.
