GRAMMAR AND BIRTH

Governor Sanwo-Olu provides succour to women who are ~putting to bed~ at this time (nonstandard).
Governor Sanwo-Olu provides succour to women who are ~delivering babies~ at this time (nonstandard).
Governor Sanwo-Olu provides succour to women who are being delivered of babies at this time (standard).
Governor Sanwo-Olu provides succour to women who are giving birth at this time (standard).

CLARIFICATION
TO PUT TO BED has two meanings:

  1. It could literally mean to get a child ready to sleep: You should try to put her to bed.
  2. To get an edition of a newspaper ready for printing: The BusinessDay edition featuring the maiden article of my column will be put to bed by tomorrow evening.

Again, note that, ideally, delivering a babe is the job of a midwife and not of a pregnant woman. So, it is the midwife who delivers a pregnant woman of a baby and not the other way round.
