GRAMMAR AND NIGERIAN POLITICS

Nigerian politicians ~decamp~ on daily basis (nonstandard).
Nigerian politicians defect on daily basis (standard). To leave a country, political party, etc., especially in order to join an opposing one is to defect.

We hear so many lies during ~electioneering campaigns~ in Nigeria (nonstandard).
We hear so many lies during electioneering in Nigeria (standard). Electioneering is the activities that politicians and their supporters carry out in order to persuade people to vote for them or their political party in an election, for example making speeches and visiting voters.

It is only in Nigeria that a legislative ~maze~ can get missing (nonstandard).
It is only in Nigeria that a legislative mace can get missing (standard). A mace is an ornamental stick carried by an official or placed somewhere as a symbol of authority.
