ITS or IT’S?

That is not ~it’s~ purpose (nonstandard).
That is not *its* purpose (standard).
“Its” is used to indicate possession of something.

I don’t think ~its~ appropriate (nonstandard).
I don’t think *it’s* appropriate (standard).
“It’s” is the contracted form of “it is” or “it was”.

We won’t know *its* use if *it’s* not working.

Would you like to use both in a sentence too?
