‘MONEY’ IN IDIOMS

TO BE IN THE MONEY: This means to win or have a lot of money:
If you win the contest, you’ll be in money (nonstandard).
If you win the contest, you’ll be in the money (standard).

TO BE ON THE MONEY: This means to be accurate, correct, appropriate:
All the suggestions she made were right on the money (standard).

FOR MY MONEY: This expression is used to say ‘in my opinion or judgment’:
For my money, LASU remains the best state university in Nigeria (standard).
