We need to ~emphasise on~ the point for clarity (nonstandard).
We need to emphasise the point for clarity (standard).
We need to lay emphasis on the point for clarity (standard).
Note that the noun is “emphasis”, not “emphacy”.

We ~advocated for~ stopping the tournament (nonstandard)
We advocated stopping the tournament (standard).
