WHAT DOES AN ADVERB MODIFY?

An adverb is a word which modifies a verb, an adjective, an adverb like itself, a preposition, a conjunction and a whole sentence. Examples will be given for each modification.

He writes LEGIBLY. ( legibly is an adverb modifying the verb writes)

The boy is SO intelligent. ( so is an adverb modifying the adjective intelligent)

He performed ABSOLUTELY poorly. ( absolutely is an adverb modifying the adverb poorly)

The book was RIGHT in your front. ( right is an adverb modifying the preposition in)

I teach SIMPLY because I love English. ( simply is an adverb modifying the conjunction because)

FRANKLY SPEAKING, I love girls. ( frankly speaking modifies the sentence I love girls)

Would you try to give an example for each?
