NEED IN QUESTION TAG

Rule 5
When “need” is used before another verb in a sentence, “need” forms the tag:
We need not surrender to them, need we?

Rule 6
When “need” is preceded by an auxiliary verb, the auxiliary verb forms the tag:
They can’t need this, can they?
They should need it, shouldn’t they?

Rule 7
When “need” is the only verb in a sentence, do, does or did forms the tag:
I need money, don’t I?
They need some stuff, don’t they?
She needed cash, didn’t she?
